General Assembly 2017
Researchers from all the institutions involved in the ATHLOS (Ageing Trajectories of Health: Longitudinal Opportunities and Synergies) Project participated in the Annual Assembly Meeting, held this year in University College London during the days 22nd and 23rd of May. The meeting was organised by University College London, King’s College London and University of Southampton, and chaired by Prof. Martin Bobak, Prof. Martin Prince, Dr. Matthew Prina and Prof. Asghar Zaidi.
The event was attended by participants of the different institutions involved in ATHLOS and members of the External Advisory Board. The progress of the different work-packages was assessed and discussed in several presentations conducted by the ATHLOS work-packages leaders. Participants discussed the issues related to the project and the findings produced during the previous months. Moreover, during the first day of the meeting, Prof. Sir Michael Marmot gave a conference talk about social determinants of healthy ageing; while during the second day, Dr. Mauricio Avendaño presented a general overview of the MINDMAP project, based on mental well-being in the ageing urban population.
Publications in the context of ATHLOS will be prepared during the next months of the project. A list of these publications was presented in a specific session, including the main objectives and methodology to reach the aims proposed. The next ATHLOS General Assembly Meeting will be held in Vienna on May 2018.
